In the massive world of information security we commonly hear of all the popular roles like SOC analysts/engineers, pentesters & CISOs but we rarely see full in-depth courses on what it means to be a GRC analyst. Enter Dr. Gerald Auger GRC Analyst course.
GRC stands for governance, risk, & compliance. It's one of the lesser technical roles that works with people, processes, & technologies and how those elements all come together under appropriate policies, procedures, & standards for the most efficient security posture. He goes over what frameworks are and takes all the fear right out of it with clear and descriptive video explanations. There are practical labs in the course as well to keep you involved.
A few of the concepts covered are: Compliance & Audit, Security Awareness Training, Cyber Security Risk (risk assessments), InfoSec Governance (policies, standards, & procedures), & finally how to actually land your first GRC Analyst job. Brilliant.
The GRC course by Dr. Auger is greatly appreciated as its important to know about all the various roles that make up an information security hierarchy (not just the SOC environment). I personally took alot away from this course to add to my knowledge base. For the past few years I've been studying to be the best SOC analyst I could be while working for local government and private institutions. I've experienced unimaginable burnout during this time. After taking & passing the SecurityBlueTeam BTL1 exam I had to sit myself down and ask if I really wanted to keep working in the trenches or if there is something more on par to laterally pivot into according to my personality & skill sets.
After completing this course, I can say that I have.
Big thank you to Dr. Auger for this course as its changed my trajectory in a very positive way.
